Kirk Hammett Reveals the First Time He Ever Heard the Wah Pedal

The American heavy metal band Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett has recently spoken with Guitar Player and revealed the five guitar solos that changed his life. Among the songs he has chosen, he made an unheard-statement-before about Thin Lzzy’s ”Warrior”. He said that he’d ever heard a wah pedal first time on the solo of the Warrior.

“This solo was the first time I’d ever heard a wah pedal,” Kirk Hammett says about Thin Lzzy’s Warrior. “I remember that when that sound came out of the speakers, it startled me. The one guy that I’ve always thought did not get enough credit was Brian Robertson, and his style and feel is something that I aspire to.”
