  4. Brian did run off the rails, but without him the, the Rolling (Rollin) Stones would not have existed. And he played almost every instrument ever invented. I saw them in 1965 and 66 and will never forget. He did lose out on the power play.

  5. Ha!
Bill Wyman absconded with over 700 million by cheating the other band members in poker.

Winner! The Ugliest, Quietest Stone gets the last laugh.

  6. It is sad what happened to Brian Jones but you can’t blame the band for firing him. At the end he wasn’t functioning as a band member.
Mick Taylor is awesome – still is but he chose to leave the band. It was a personal decision which he may now regret – or not, but life’s about making decisions and taking some risks. Too bad it didn’t work out for him.

  7. As much as I sympathise with the views regarding Brian Jones and Mick Taylor, we have to remember that Brian made himself unreliable due to his behaviour. Good musician he undoubtedly was but being in a band is more than playing ability alone. Mick Taylor left if his own accord and how he managed his work after that is not down to the Stones. They have endured because they have looked after the interests of the band as a whole and each other. They keep making money because they are excellent at what they do both live and in the studio.

  8. Why does Mick Jaggers say 500 million net worth at the beginning and 360 million at the end of the story? Also with Micks education in accounting I can’t believe he isn’t the richest.

  9. Okay, first of all, let’s get it right okay. Brian Jones was the original founder of the Rolling Stones ( Rollin Stones ) I don’t think they would be there today if it wasn’t for Brian. Also get the net worth right okay, you guys contradict yourself a couple of times with 2 different net worths!!!

  10. Hey Gail Wilkins, I think you’ll find that Mick Jones was a member of The Clash. Doh!

  11. Your reporting leaves much to be desired. You state in the beginning of the article that as of Oct 2021, the Stones are worth $950 million. Then state their worths separately as an accumulative $2 billion.

  12. Hey Gail, It was Brian Jones. And yes they had kicked him out of the band for being an unreliable drunk and druggie, before he drowned. Try and brush up on your history before you comment please.

  13. Gail you dumb shot he was kicked out before he drowned or now a lot of people suspect he was killed especially since the guy who killed him had a death bed confession of killing him apparently these hanger on people worked for him and Brian owed them
    Money

  14. There was another member who composed almost all of their material. He was Elroy Baker, and he would be worth about $1.5 billion except the other band members kept him in an attic and never gave him credit. Elroy was finally inducted into the rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 but nobody showed up, so it’s a secret. He has a display near the broom closet.

  15. I was there. I met Brian, Keith and Andrew (Loog Oldham) (Manager). They were sitting in the back seat of a limousine. They raced from around a street corner and up to the curb where I was walking by–– the brakes screeched and the car jumped the curb, causing me to jump back.
Brian rolled down the window and the three of them were laughing hysterically. Brian shook his head out the window like the Beatles seemed to have created first. He asked me if I was going to the Ed Sullivan Theatre to watch them perform I said “I ain’t got no tickets!”. Brian says “oh, too bad. I guess you will just have to watch us on the “telly” (television). Then the car zoomed of with the three of them laughing hysterically! Brian Jones, Keith Richards and Andrew (Loog) Oldham…
