System Of A Down Postpones Los Angeles Show After Serj Tankian Tested Positive For COVID

System Of A Down has recently announced through its social media accounts that they’ve been forced to postpone their Los Angeles shows after the band’s singer Serj Tankian tested positive for COVID.

System Of A Down is an Armenian-American heavy metal band that was formed in California in 1994. During its ongoing career in the community, the Grammy Award-winner System Of A Down reached its world success with the release of five studio albums.

Selling more than 40 million records worldwide, System Of A Down released 5 studio albums, 13 music videos, and 19 singles for their catalog at press time. Debuted in 1998 with its self-titled album, System Of A Down released its fifth and latest album in 2005, named Hypnotize.

System Of A Down, who’s been traveling all over the world during its career, shared saddened news for their upcoming Los Angeles shows that are expected to be played this weekend. According to the band, they’ve been forced to postpone the show to February 2022 after Serj Tankian tested positive.

“It is with great regret that we must reschedule our Los Angeles performances to February 4th and 5th, 2022,” the band said in the statement. “Despite multiple precautionary measures, Serj has unfortunately tested positive for COVID.

“We’re sorry to disappoint our amazing fans with this last minute news, as we could not wait to finally play for you. However, the health of our band, crew, venue staff, and all of our fans is our top priority.

“All tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refund availability will be sent to all ticket buyers via email.”

Serj Tankian Apologizes System Of A Down Fans

After the band sent the announcement, Serj Tankian has shared his feelings in a separate statement. Expressing his upset about System Of A Down‘s postponing the shows, Serj Tankian apologized to System Of A Down fans.

“After having 3 really fun shows, I got back to LA with flu-like symptoms,” he writes.

“I am shocked that it could even be Covid as I am not just vaccinated but also incredibly careful.

“I am so sorry to have to push these dates yet again especially to those who made sacrifices to be here from out of town.

“Touring is not something I intend to continue doing down the line so these handful of shows have meant the world to me.

“Thank you for your love and understanding. Peace.”

As some of you might remember, System Of A Down‘s two shows at the Banc Of California Stadium with Helmet, Korn, and Russian Circles were set to be played in May 2020. But unfortunately, the band rescheduled the dates firstly to May 21 and 22, 2021, and then once again to October 22 and 23, 2021. Now the dates are postponed to next February.
