Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, KISSPaul Stanley and Gene Simmons, Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Buttler, Halestorm‘s Lzzy Hale, Disturbed‘s David Draiman, and more have paid their tribute to the Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Foo Fighters, who is currently on tour in South America, has made a statement that deeply upset the rock community. On March 25, it was announced by Foo Fighters that Taylor Hawkins has passed away. The cause of death of the 50-year-old drummer may have been revealed.

After the shocking passing of Taylor Hawkins, who found dead in a hotel room at the Casa Medina in Bogota, Colombia, everyone started to ask what is the cause of death of Taylor Hawkins. According to Colombia police, the death of Foo Fighters icon Taylor Hawkins may be tied drugs.

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” read the message. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.

“Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Taylor Hawkins appeared with Orange County band Sylvia and toured with Sass Jordan early in her career before joining Foo Fighters. Hawkins achieved international fame with Foo Fighters, which he joined in 1997. Hawkins took part in nine albums with the band, eight of which were studio albums.

On the other hand, Hawkins released the self-titled album of his side project Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders in 2006. The album, which received positive feedback from the rock community, consists of 11 tracks and more than 39-min listening time. Hawkins later released two more albums under the name Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, Red Light Fever (2010), Get the Money (2019).

However, on March 25, Foo Fighters announced on their social media accounts that Taylor Hawkins‘ passed away. The death of American drummer Taylor Hawkins deeply wounded the rock community. As well as the fans, many artists shared their sadness over Hawkins’ death on their social media accounts.

Lars Ulrich’s Taylor Hawkins Tribute

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich paid tribute to Hawkins with his Twitter flood. Lars Ulrich said the community is lesser without Hawkins.

“Your phone call a week ago touched and inspired me and I will always be appreciative for you championing our community as in your parting words,” Lars wrote.

“’Drummers stick together!’ Damn right brother. Except now the community is lesser without you. Rest In Peace…”

Gene Simmons stated that he was completely shocked in his official social media account and expressed his condolences to the Hawkins’ family.

Paul Stanley’s Taylor Hawkins Tribute

One of those musicians that paid his tribute to Taylor Hawkins was KISS guitarist Paul Stanley. He sent a tweet to pay his tribute to Taylor Hawkins after his tragic passing.

“Speechless and Gutted,” he said. “Taylor was a great guy, a dad and a husband. My heart goes out to them, Dave and the band. What awful news.”

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne shared on his Twitter account that he offered his condolences to Hawkins‘ family and said he was a great person and musician.

“Taylor Hawkins was truly a great person and an amazing musician,” Ozzy tweeted. “My heart, my love and my condolences go out to his wife, his children, his family, his band and his fans. See you on the other side – Ozzy.”

Disturbed‘s David Draiman praised Hawkins and Dave Grohl in a post on his official Twitter account. Draiman called the duo the most genuine and entertaining guitarist and drummer he had ever seen.

“I’ve seen a lot of live bands in my time and I can honestly say that I have never seen a drummer and guitar player interact in a more jovial, genuine, and entertaining way than how Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl did,” Draiman said. “One of the best in history. Devastated.”
