Keith Richards Sends Emotional Letter For Charlie Watts

The Rolling Stones co-founder Keith Richards took to his official Instagram page to pay his tribute to his late bandmate Charlie Watts on the drummer’s first death anniversary. He sent an emotional letter and a photo collage for Watts to mention his respect for him.

Born in Dartford, Kent, Keith Richards is an English musician who came to world prominence as a member of The Rolling Stones. He first contacted The Rolling Stones when he graduated from art school and technical school during his youth. At the time, he befriended his close friend and bandmate, Mick Jagger, the late drummer Charlie Watts, Brian Jones, and Bill Wyman, and began his musical career in the band.

As a member of The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards became one of the most important musicians in the rock scene. Touring all around the world with the band throughout that ongoing 6-decade career, Richards collected a lot of great memories with his bandmates. They hung out together, recorded in the studio funnily, and wrote unique stuff head to head. Their hard work paid off by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

On August 24, 2021, Charlie Watts passed away at the age of 80. When the musician died at a London hospital, his family was around him while the musician was giving his last breath. After Watts passed away, numerous artists, including The Rolling Stones members, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Roger Daltrey, Brian May, and Roger Taylor, were devastated deeply. Millions of people sent heartwarming words for him to send him respectful letters.

Recently, Charlie Watts sent an 8-photo collage to mourn the musician at his first death anniversary. The photos were about what both musicians lived in the past. He also sent a short but heartwarming message to his late bandmate, showing off how he miss him.

“Charlie Watts, I miss you Mate,” the musician said. “Sending love to Shirley, Seraphina and Charlotte. One love, Keith.”

    Not to get too technical, but Keith has been performing with the Stones since ’62…the way I count, that’s seven decades, not five!
    Oh yeah, and I think you meant to say Keith sent the photos on the 1st anniversary of Charlie’s passing, not the other way around!
