Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins‘ widow Alison Hawkins has broken her silence on her husband’s tragic passing and admitted that the late drummer was honored to be a part of his band.

There are numerous rock musicians who have succeeded in making their name in the history of rock and roll. Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins was one of those greatest musicians who passed away too early. He was such a great person in his private life and a great musician as an artist. Although he passed away on March 25, 2022, people are continuously paying their tribute to him to live his legacy.

When we focused on Taylor Hawkins‘ achievements as a musician, he was the key member of the band throughout his stint from 1997 to 2022. Recording nine studio albums with Foo Fighters, his debut was the band’s third release, There Is Nothing Left To Lose. 2021’s Medicine at Midnight marked his latest release with the band. Also, unfortunately, his final show as a part of his band was the band’s live performance at the Lollapalooza Argentina festival on March 20, 2022.

In addition to his works with Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, who had a colorful personality, released a piece of things with other huge names. With his side-project, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, he released three different studio albums. He also contributed to the musicians such as Coheed and Cambria, The Birds of Satan, Nighttime Boogie Association, and Alanis Morissette.

However, recently, an emotional statement has been released via Taylor Hawkins‘ official Twitter page. It was Taylor Hawkins‘ widow that penned those words. At first, she thanked people who have shown their love and admiration for Taylor Hawkins continuously. She admitted that their messages and respectful words had been an invaluable comfort for her and her family.

“My deepest thanks and admiration go out to the global Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s fans far and wide for the outpouring of love each and every one of you have shown our beloved Taylor,” she tweets. “Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief.”

She then revealed how Foo Fighters was important for Taylor Hawkins. Saying that he was always honored to be a part of his band throughout that 25-year process, Alison added that he also always loved all of his fans. She finished her words by thanking people who loved her husband.

“As Taylor’s wife, and on behalf of our children, I want to share how much you meant to him and how dedicated he was to ‘knocking your socks off’ during every performance,” she continues. “Taylor was honored to be a part of the Foo Fighters and valued his dream role in the band every minute of his 25 years with them.

“We consider every band member and the extended Foo Fighters team our family.

“Taylor’s endearing spirit and deep love of music will live on forever through the collaborations he so enjoyed having with other musicians and the catalog of songs he contributed to and created.

“In celebration of his life, it is now up to all of us who loved him most to honor Taylor’s legacy and the music he gave us.

“Thank you all again for your love and sympathy. Taylor loved all of you & we love you too.

“With gratitude, Alison Hawkins.”

Brian May’s Tribute Message For Taylor Hawkins

Queen legend Brian May was one of those who sent heartwarming words for Taylor Hawkins after his death. As you know, both musicians had played side by side on Brian‘s Another World album. Recalling his musical talent on the album, Brian May had said that Taylor Hawkins that he was the most devoted Queen fan in the world.

 

“Oh my god,” Brian May says (as transcribed by MetalCastle.net). “Well, in this album, he was just a boy who’d only just joined the Foo Fighters. We’d become friends, and he came over to my studio, and [he] just beat the hell out of everything with a huge smile on his face. I hadn’t realized [it], but he’s the most vociferous and devoted Queen fan in the World.

“And I think he made a single-handed call to the new generation. I mean, I didn’t think [that] I was gonna be talking about this, you know, when I put this down. I had no idea that Taylor wouldn’t be with us anymore. I feel devastated. Roger and I both do. He was like, family to us.

“On this album, you hear on Cyborg – just going nuts – and it’s wonderful. I’m so grateful that I had those moments with him.”
