During their historic career as two-thirds of the Canadian hard rock masters Rush, vocalist/bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson released some solo material.
On Aug. 9, each musician’s first solo record — Lifeson’s 1996 release Victor and Lee’s 2000 release My Favorite Headache — was reissued via Anthem Records (in Canada) and Rhino Records (everywhere else).
Alex Lifeson’s
Victor will receive its first vinyl edition, remixed by Lifeson himself. The fourth side of the LP set features instrumental tracks previously only available at the guitarist’s
website.
Guest artists include lead vocalist
Edwin from
I Mother Earth,
Primus bassist
Les Claypool, and Canadian powerhouse vocalist
Lisa Dalbello. The 15-song collection is paired with striking 2024 reimagined artwork by Fantoons Animation Studios.
My Favourite Headache was and is the only solo release from Geddy Lee. It’s receiving its first vinyl edition since a limited run in 2019. Its fourth side also features two instrumental mixes.
Produced by
Lee, Ben Mink, and
David Leonard, the album includes contributions from
Mink and drummers
Matt Cameron (Soundgarden/Pearl Jam) and
Jeremy Taggart (Our Lady Peace).
