Evanescence Reaches 1 Billion Streams on Spotify
Evanescence reaches 1 billion streams on Spotify with their 2003 hit single “Bring Me To Life” off their debut album Fallen. Reaching the Spotify 1 billion stream club is a milestone only a few rock and heavy metal artists have achieved in their careers. The band is no stranger to the 1 billion club, having reached this milestone with their video on YouTube in February 2022.

Evanescence is an American rock band founded in 1994 by singer and keyboardist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas. Amy is a classically trained pianist, musician, and composer. Lee’s ability to fuse various musical genres, often lead to the band being mislabeled as gothic metal, gothic rock, symphonic metal, and even nu metal.
In a quote from Blender Magazine, Lee detailed what inspired the album Fallen. “Most of Fallen is inspired by that relationship,” she says, declining to identify the ex. “I never want to say his name or see him again. It was verbal and physical abuse. But like a lot of women in that situation, I spent my time protecting him and persuading people that everything was OK.”
The songs “Bring Me to Life“, featuring guest vocals from Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, and “My Immortal” were originally featured on the soundtrack of the 2003 action film Daredevil. In 2004 “Bring Me to Life” won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
