Pearl Jam Releases New Album “Dark Matter” and 2024 World Tour Dates

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Pearl Jam’s twelfth studio album and it’s finally hear! Pearl Jam announced today the release of their new album “Dark Matter” and the 2024 world tour dates in support of their new music. The album is being released on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on April 19, 2024. Dark Matter is now available for pre-order through Pearl Jam’s website.

Dark Matter Recaptures Their Earlier Sound

Working with award-winning Grammy producer Andrew Watt (Ozzy Osbourne, Post Malone, The Rolling Stones) invigorated the band to reach back to where they started. Earlier this year in January, guitarist Mike McCready teased fans in an interview.

“It’s a lot heavier than you’d expect. There’s the melody and energy of the first couple of records. Andrew pushed us to play as hard and melodic and thoughtful as we’ve done in a long time. I feel like Matt Cameron‘s drumming has elements of what he did in Soundgarden.”

“For better or worse, you’re gonna hear a lot more lead guitar from me — stuff I haven’t done in a long time. Usually, the first or second takes are best. After that, I start thinking about it and it doesn’t have the feel. But Andrew caught the lightning in a bottle, as they say.”

When we were in the studio with him this past year, he really kicked our asses, got us focused and playing, song after song. It took a long time to make Gigaton, but this new one didn’t take long. Andrew was like: “You guys take forever to make records. Let’s do this, right now.” Under the careful guidance of Watt, the band was able to write and record Dark Matter in three weeks. Dark Matter is the band’s first release since 2020’s Gigaton. 

Dark Matter World Tour 2024

Pearl Jam’s world tour starts in May, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. Their final stop is in November at Giants Stadium in Sydney, Australia. Tour dates and ticket information are listed below:

General tickets will be available through a Ticketmaster registration. Fans can register for a chance to participate in the Dark Matter World Tour 2024 sale through Sunday, February 18 at 11:59 PM local time for Europe, UK, Australia and New Zealand shows and by Sunday, February 18 at 11:59 pm PT for North America shows.
