Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil Was Criticized Harshly By Phil Lewis: "It Was Pitiful"

L.A. Guns singer Phil Lewis has commented on Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil‘s first pandemic-era performance and said that it was pitiful to see his pathetic stage performance.

Vince Neil is known for his career with the heavy metal band Motley Crue. Parting ways and rejoining the band several times, Vince Neil released 8 studio albums with Motley Crue. Releasing his debut in 1981, titled Too Fast For Love, Vince had released his latest studio album with the band in 2008, titled Saints of Los Angeles.

As some of those Mötley Crüe fans might know, Vince Neil has been criticized harshly by fans due to his overweight causes to low performance. Previously, he played at Iowa Festival and devastated fans by admitting he lost his voice. After that, Vince Neil shared the stage with Sammy Hagar in Texas and rocked the crowd.

This past October, Vince Neil had fallen off the stage and broke his ribs during his performance with his solo band at the Monsters On The Mountain festival in Pigeon Forge. At the time, the band’s bassist had said that he couldn’t breathe easily, and his health state was critical.

Recently, the singer Phil Lewis made an appearance on The Bay Ragni Show and shared his honest opinion on Vince Neil. Touching on his current body condition, the singer mocked Vince Neil.

“I’ve got lungs — I’ve got lungs for days,” the singer says. “I’m a runner, so I’ve always had a big lung capacity and a loud, annoying voice. So, those things have really, really served me well.

“And [I am regularly] on the rowing machine, getting the stamina going, because — I wouldn’t say I’m in training, but not doing anything for two years, I don’t wanna get shocked.

“I don’t wanna get… Like a couple of guys who’d come out and they’re halfway through their set, and they’re, like, ‘Oh, fuck. I’m completely out of shape. I haven’t done this in so long.’ Well… You saw… You know who I’m talking about.”

Phil Says It Was Pitiful To See Vince Neil Not Able To Perform

In the continuation of his words, Lewis blasted Vince Neil and said it was pitiful to see the musician not able to perform on stage. He also said he has no sympathy for people who acts irresponsibly.

“And it was pitiful to see the lead vocalist of ‘The Stadium [Tour]’ headliner not able to make it through fucking four songs,” Phil continues. “C’mon!

“As a frontman, as a singer, you have a fucking responsibility to step it up, especially if you’re that fucking big.

“So, no fucking sympathy from me whatsoever. It takes work. It takes discipline.”

In the early days of this past October, Vince Neil had shared a video clip via his social media account to show that he was trying to get in shape for his band’s upcoming Stadium Tour.

“Trying it all,” Neil captioned on his social media post. “Check out Emsculpt Neo abs, They say it’s 20,000 crunches in just 30 minutes!! #EmsculptNeo #emsculptpartner #moremusclelessfat #emsculpt @BTLAesthetics.”

  1. I’ve seen other large sized singers perform well. Barry White, pavoratti, meat loaf.
Something else is going on for him health wise.

  2. What the hell is wrong with you people is that all you know how to do is kick a person when they’re down Vince Neil has been entertaining us for over 30 years and his fans have loved him I get it he’s not at his best right now but who the hell are you to criticize him I wish Vince Neil in Motley Crue the very best

  3. I saw Poison & Motley Crue at Tinley Park about 7 years ago. Vince Neil was absolutely awful and that’s an understatement! He mumbled his was through most of the show. Brett Michaels of Poison was spot-on perfect with his performance considering he’d had some major health problems prior to this show.

Also, you’re doing pretty good with your English!! Great article! Keep up with your writing!

  5. Phil Lewis, I would watch what you say. I remember meeting la guns, back in 2010 and Phil Lewis was an arrogant asshole towards me. All I said was your voice still sounds great after all these years and his reply to me was move along. Vince will bounce back.

  6. Bustin on vince neil..really..your band had one hit..one, and it was a ballad..the ballad of jane…la guns sucks and always has..go home

  7. Vince Neal is a legendary performer and I think its disrespectful for a fellow musician to speak so rudely about him. There will never be another band like Motley Crue. Vince knows what he needs to do to get in shape for their up coming world tour and I would hope people would encourage Vince not try to tear him down.

  9. Phil Lewis has always been an asshole. Sure Vince doesn’t sound so great but when you have the success and bank that he has , then talk shit

  10. Hey Phil you are a fucking loser your band sucks and so do you
Vince Neil is a fucking icon and he will always have his fans back his play back in the day he was one of the greatest fucking front men of all time maybe he does need to get back into shape and i bet he will just to shove your shitty words down your pathetic no singing ass throat . who do you have ? Oh yeah fucking nobody because you suck
    Fuck you man

  11. Everyone needs to take a step back and think for a god damn minute. I love the Crue as much as anyone else, I’ve been holding 900bucks worth of tickets for this Stadium tour for 3 years now waiting patiently to see these guys and you know what??….I want my fucking money back. Yeahh Vince WAS a legend, key word WAS, you can’t charge people hundreds of dollars to come see you perform then literally huff and fucking puff, skip words to every fucking song. We all love Vince but he has a responsibly to himself and his fans to say you know what ” maybe I can’t headline this tour, I’m not 25-35 years old anymore. You think Vince Neil really gives a shit about you?? He wants to get paid, they all do. That’s what this is about it’s about getting paid one last time. Joe Elliot, Brett Michaels, Joan Jett all sound fucking amazing…..but Vince can’t complete 4 fucking songs…..come on folks I know you all ain’t that dumb. I don’t deny that Vince was the shit back in the day and I pray everyday that I’m gonna wake up and see an article that he’s finally getting his shit together, but noooo. Everything I see and hear tells me he’s DONE… FINISHED!! I’m not paying 900 bucks to sing those God damn songs myself. I want to hear him sing and unfortunately that ain’t gonna happen. Don’t bash other singers for not being a fucking alcoholic and still being able to hold a tune. He needs to get his shit together like NOW or step the fuck up and admit he simply can’t do it anymore. I really don’t give a shit if he was able to sing 30 years ago, I’m going to see him next year so he better be able to fuckin sing then that’s my point, and I don’t think it’s too much to ask for all of us who’ve emptied our bank accounts to buy tickets for this event. Peace out!!

  12. Phil, you’re an asshole ! Vince has been through a lot of shit all his life and tragedy with his one best friend and played on for year’s in his best performance and helped keep Nikki together not to mention many other things. I think la guns suck and you didn’t need to say anything about Vince because you’re not worthy of having a fan Base like motley Crue. Wake up asshole and grow up while you’re at it… Go Vince pa. Brothers and sisters love you and wish you well on your latest accident fall recovery. Elliot reading pa.

  15. I suppose you have it all together eh Phil? Vince Neil may have been struggling with his voice and his weight, however the fact that you will publicly diss him it’s fucked up. They’re about to embark on a stadium tour can you say the same LOL. Show some respect yeah I’ve followed these guys since I was 12 years old and I’m now 51. People struggle people have issues look in the fucking mirror once in awhile I think you should support your fellow musicians you never know what they’re going through and just because he has had horrendous issues does not mean they are not rectifiable. Get a life.

  16. Dear Vince Neil: Knock em dead kid! I’m rooting for you n the rest of y/our crue to go out there and OWN this Stadium Tour! Show all of the critics what Motley Crue is still made of! Blood, Sweat, Tears, Team Work and DETERMINATION! “All For One And One For All!”
    💘Sincerely, F’n 🎼uzi!🥀🖤🌹😘💕✨🌹🌹🌹🌹

  18. Life is full of peaks and valleys
Why kick a guy when he is down
