The American rock band Halestorm, who took 18th with “I Miss The Misery” at Amazon’s “Best of Rock Songs of Decade”, frontwoman Lzzy Hale has posted a tweet in the last days of the year and started a question-answer activity under the hashtag of “#asklzzyanything”.

In the activity, a fan asked her how they choose what goes into a setlist for a show, and Lzzy answered, “We switch our set up every night and we never play the same set twice, we also incorporate “jamming” and “improv” into ever set to make sure we are INCLUDIOUR AUDIENCE, I stead and paying AT THEM. We use no tracks and no click!”

You can find some questions and her answers below.

Question from Nykki Mills: What do you do to help yourself feel inspired when inspiration isn’t coming organically?

Lzzy Hale: You have to “ show up for work” regardless of whether you feel inspired or influenced you have to show up and draft…then draft again and again til you know it’s right!

Question from Ady: What are some tips for getting a clear mind for writing music?

Lzzy Hale: One of the tools i use is “creating my creative space”, as in… have a designated space that you create in, whether that’s a corner of your room or a closet etc. After a while, your body will kick in and “know it’s writing time” (similar to toilets actually, when u have to pee)

Question from Merisa Kallio: How do you deal with your insecurities? How do you deal with it when a friend points out one of your insecurities?

Lzzy Hale: First of all, even I still deal with my insecurities, even more so than you maybe, cuz i have not only my peers, but the entire world judge me on everything. But you have you stop comparing yourself to others. Be all of you, just for you.
