Anthrax’s Scott Ian Recalls The Unheard Moment He Lived About Eddie Van Halen

After the tragic passing of Eddie Van Halen, who lost his battle against cancer at the age of 65 and passed away on October 6th, 2020, unheard stories came out and surprised fans with their emotion.

Anthrax legend Scott Ian was one of those who reveal unheard stories about Eddie Van Halen. He took his official Instagram account to mourn Eddie Van Halen and speak about the golden moment he lived about him.

In the post he shared, there was a rare photo of Eddie Van Halen, and Scott Ian was taking fans back to his high school year, 1978. He remembered the first time he heard Eddie Van Halen’s Eruption and how he reacted it at the time.

Scott Ian said: “I remember the moment I heard Eruption – 9th grade lunchroom early 1978, our long hair crew sequestered at our usual table in the corner – all seven of us crowded around my friend David Karibian’s little cassette player that was cued up… David was smiling at us because he’d already heard it and he knew it was going to blow our fucking minds and then he hit play… 7 jaws hit the floor at the same time and life suddenly was so much more fun.”
